Shock!
I know!! A post on the blog!!!!
We have been too busy to blog. School, church, small group, youth group, basketball, baseball, jobs, etc.... Who has time??!!
The recap of events since the start of 2012...
Brenda had a hysterectomy the beginning of January and has recovered quite nicely. We celebrated several birthdays and the girls began their Upward Basketball season. 3 girls' games to watch each Saturday for 8 weeks. They had a good time, I think.
Thomas started his baseball season in February. Yes. February. It was only chilly the first weekend tournament, then it was pleasant...and now, hot. We are getting out moneys worth from the purchase of a sun canopy! He will finish his baseball season with his current team in June, and already tried out, and made another travel team for the summer. This one is an older team, so we'll probably see some growth from him. Speaking of growth, he is now taller than Mom and is the same height as his Dad. February also was the time for a nice visit from Brenda's parents on their way to and from Florida. They were able to see baseball and basketball games.
In March, Thomas took over Charlie's job with an airline safety equipment company, and Charlie began his career with Chick-fil-A. A friend from church is the owner/operator of a Chick-fil-a Dwarf House and Charlie said he would love to work for him. He passes several other Chick-fil-a's on the way to this particular one, but that's where he wanted to go. (For those not familiar with the Dwarf House, there are a few only in the Atlanta area with expanded menu and a "sit down and order from your table" side of the building.) He is LOVING it and would like to work his way up in the business. Now he's decided he will need to go to college for a business and marketing degree. Maybe now he will work a little more to finish his high school stuff! This is the month the kids were starting to get in the pool. A little chilly, but they got in, anyway.
Helayna became an official teenager in April, although she had already been acting like one for quite a while! We had a 5 day visit from her Kentucky friend, Victoria, at the beginning of the month, and a 1 day visit from the Sheppard family on their way home from Florida. It's nice to have visits!!!
Which brings us to May. Ongoing house projects, Joe's 50th birthday, ballgames, working with the youth at church on Wednesdays, school, work,.... and a Memorial weekend visit from the Sweet family. It was nice to meet 5 month old, Miriam, and spend a lot of time visiting with Larry, Sonya, Maya, and Myles. We took them to a local Memorial Day parade, but spent most of our time hanging out at the house. Fun times!
Whew! With my track record, the next update will be in December!
