My parents came down last week so my dad could help out in the kitchen. No, not cooking, but creating a work space to make my kitchen an easier place in which to work. The small "L" shaped counter has been transformed to a "U" shaped area with an attached table on the back of the cabinets. Now, we have seating area for 9 on three sides of a table! We can even add 2 more chairs on the end, if needed!! Dad is very gifted in his craftmanship. He planned it in his head, then we saw it created in the kitchen. To keep some of the chaos of our house out of Dad's way, Mom and I took the girls out several days to shop and show Mom the area. It was a fun week!! Too bad Dad doesn't work a little slower so we could have enjoyed having them here longer!
If the photos don't show the color detail enough, the new counter tops are black with white and grey speckles and the cabinets are painted a light grey. All that is left to do in the kitchen is to replace the flooring. Have to wait for tax refund for that project.
